August

Went for a car (BMW, Porsche, Audi, Mercedes) tour. 2 were closed, for lack of parts, so we did castles/palaces as well.

In addition to glass boxes (rooms) for the smokers the airport also has Dog bathrooms.

Started with a castle.

... and beer!

Most of the time we stayed at these places called MotorWorld.

They have a car theme, new car showrooms (the big boys) - Ferrari, McLaren, Bugatti, Porsche, Lamborghini, Bentley, etc.

They also have service areas and memorabilia.

I finally got a car bed!

The theme even carried over to the hotel elevators.

Each of the car companies had their own museum. These are the elevators at the Mercedes museum. (Play button at bottom of pic)

They also had a killer fooseball table!

One of Ludwig's palaces had extensive and interesting gardens. Ludwig was the guy who had this built. Never got it finished.

I missed the best part but this is Rapunzel's tower.

I tried to get a recording of the 12 little girls who came up, read the sign and yelled it at the top of their voices several times.

We took a boat ride, got swallowed by a whale (Pinnochio), went to a gingerbread house -

and stopped by sleeping Beauty's magic mirror to ask who was the fairest of them all (pic 1). Alas, it was Sleeping Beauty (pic 2).

Ludwig had some nice fountains and stoves (for room heating).

We went to the Hofbrauhaus in Munich. Seats 2,000 for lunch or dinner

The pic is the banquet room where Hitler gave a speech the night before Kristallnacht.

While in Munich had to go up the observation tower to take pics of the 72 Olympics site.

Went to the Monet exhibit - similar to the VanGough exhibit everyone was making a big deal about last year.

Thought this part, on the floor, was knda cool. (Play button at bottom of pic) They said there was a 5 year lease on the equipmnt, so there should be at least 3 more.

Also managed to have a birthday in there somewhere and added to my Beatle stuff.
