This is after 8 1/2 hours on 2 planes, 2 1/2 hour layover, 1 hour cab ride through ice, slush and snow, no hotel room - as it was 8:00am and freezing cold.

There it is in all its glory. The Cavern Club. It's as small as it looks, 2 stories down and they say you could tell who had been there from the smell on them.

Beatles played there 793, 794, 795 or 798 times depending on who's counting. It was also where Queen played their first show.

The Rolling Stones and The Who have also played there.

The nurse selling poppies at the roundabout in Penny Lane married the guy between John and the other plaid shirt guy in the Quarrymen picture.

Strawberry Field was an orphans home. John's aunt Mimi told him she would hang him if she caught him hanging out there.

He thought it was 'Nothing to get hung about'.
